Sponsorship

We keep good company. Over the years, we’ve been proud to sponsor some exceptional individuals, teams and organisations.

As one of our corporate goals is ‘continuing to set the gold standard’, it makes sense for us to seek out like-minded people and organisations.

We are longstanding sponsors of the National Theatre. The ground-breaking Travelex Seasons have seen almost 2 million tickets offered at a price that’s on a par with going to the cinema. Over 360,000 of those tickets were bought by first-time visitors to the National Theatre.

2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the Travelex Seasons. Nicholas Hytner’s acclaimed production of Collaborators by John Hodge will transfer from the Cottesloe, where it had a sell-out run, to one of the larger National spaces. Thousands more theatregoers will be able to see world-class theatre at bargain prices as part of the Travelex £12 ticket season in 2012. Click here to buy tickets.

Past sponsorships

While our current sponsorship activity focusses on the Travelex Seasons at the National Theatre, Travelex has a tradition of sponsoring individuals and institutions who represent excellence in their chosen field at an international level.

Australian cricket team

Travelex was the overseas sponsor and international tour partner for the Australian cricket team from the Ashes tour in 2001 until the end of 2010. We also sponsored individual players during this time.

Panasonic Toyota racing team

Back in 2002, Travelex signed a five-year commercial agreement with the team, as it geared up for its first Grand Prix. Part of the deal included supplying foreign exchange services to Toyota Motorsport.

Adam Gilchrist

We’d already signed Adam up as a brand ambassador. In 2003, we appointed him as a non-executive director of our Australasian board.

The Royal Opera House

In 2004, Travelex signed a three-year deal with the Royal Opera House to make 100 of the top seats available on Mondays for just £10, for half of each season.

John McEnroe

In 2005, we appointed John McEnroe as a brand ambassador, with a particular focus on representing Travelex in the Americas.

Jonny Wilkinson

Two years after that famous drop kick in 2003, Travelex signed up Jonny Wilkinson as a brand ambassador.

Brett Lee - In 2005, Travelex appointed Brett Lee as a brand ambassador in Australia. We were impressed by his ferocity on the field, coupled with his off-pitch decency.
